Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom is a free fall ride located at Six Flags Magic Mountain, known for being the tallest and fastest drop tower in the world. The ride stands at 415 feet, with a vertical drop of 400 feet. Riders are secured in their seats as they ascend the tower, a journey that takes approximately 90 seconds. During this ascent, guests have a chance to take in stunning views from over 40 stories high, although they may feel a mix of excitement and anxiety looking down at the ground far below.
At the top, riders hear a message from Lex Luthor before the unexpected moment of release occurs. The drop is initiated suddenly, sending riders plummeting toward the ground at a speed of 85 miles per hour. This quick descent provides an intense rush, often leaving little time for screams.
The ride shares its tower with the adjacent Superman: Escape from Krypton, giving riders a chance to see these cars as they race by. After experiencing the drop, guests can explore the LexCorp weapons training facility, featuring games that allow for prize-winning opportunities, as well as the Daily Planet gift shop for mementos of their daring adventure.
